As a physician specializing in Internal Medicine, I see many middle-aged and older patients who suffer from sarcopenia or aged related loss of skeletal muscle mass muscle, and its health-related consequences. These consequences include an adverse effect on metabolism causing weight gain and the weakening of bones leading to osteopenia and osteoporosis.

As part of my patients’ regular work up, I routinely perform sophisticated testing which precisely measures their body fat and muscle mass. One patient, a 64-year-old female, had this test done before and then 6 months after beginning a Super Slow Strength Training program at Loyalty Fitness. The results were extremely impressive, with a measurable increase in lean muscle in all of the patient’s limbs as well as her core.

68 Years Young!

For 23 years I lived with crippling knee pain. I had finally received a double knee replacement in March 2016. Loyalty Fitness strength training changed my life, both before knee replacement surgery and afterward.

The “pre-hab” regimen at Loyalty Fitness got all my muscles, especially those supporting my knees and legs, strengthened and ready for surgery. Not only stronger muscles, but also the increased strength helped ease the pain. The super slow approach just works wonders without causing further knee damage. It also got my body ready for new knees. All this was done in collaboration with my surgeon (who was just magical!).

Then, following double knee replacement, the Loyalty Fitness SUPER SLOW STRENGTH TRAINING became a critical element of my rehab. Those twice a week, 20 minute sessions made my rehab very successful. My recovery and strength training at Loyalty Fitness is miraculous. Here’s a look at what I mean. Leg press before surgery: 110 lbs. After surgery: 180 lbs. Today walking feels like walking on air. Calves, supportive muscles around my knees, quads, glutes all much stronger. And child-like balance has returned.

I am in my best shape in decades, certainly happier, and looking to the future with confidence. I am a happy, happy camper with Loyalty Fitness!

Today, two years post-surgery, and with twice-weekly 20-minute sessions, I now carry on a very active life, with full mobility, and NO PAIN! And now can walk three to eight miles a day! (Yeah–and with no pain!)

I’ll never go back to a “regular” gym again!

Brian has lost weight, gained strength, feels great and improved his cholesterol ratio!

Brian enjoyed traditional strength training in a gym but once he hit his 40s, his joints could no longer take the abuse. Also, his cholesterol had risen, and he felt he also needed some cardio exercise to address it.
